Message from Battalion Chief Howard Fincher, Fire Marshal
At the Anderson Fire Protection District, we see prevention as a team effort. We work with you to make our community safer for everyone. Our firefighters spend numerous hours each year at schools, civic events, or with station tours delivering fire prevention and other safety programs. The Anderson Fire District works very closely with the City of Anderson and private contractors in reviewing plans before construction begins and conduct fire code compliance inspections throughout the building process. Our prevention office is working hand in hand with the business owners to help them eliminate conditions that increase the likelihood of a fire or impede our ability to effetely assist in an emergency. The Anderson Fire Protection District has a great many responsibilities. One
of the most important is prevention. Prevention includes extensive
educational programs for all ages, plans review for new construction and
remodels assuring that all fire and life safety codes are being meet, and
inspections of existing business through an annual program assuring
businesses operate safely for both the employees and the public.
